COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY – Pro-Palestinian protests persisted into early Tuesday morning at Columbia University despite orders to disband from University officials.

Demonstrators formed barricades and linked arms, with some students even barricading themselves inside buildings.

The University began suspending activists who refused to dismantle tent encampments, declaring a stalemate in negotiations.

University President Nemat Minouche Shafik said efforts to persuade demonstrators had failed, leading to the crackdown.

The protests at Columbia are part of a broader wave of Gaza-related demonstrations across American universities.
