NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Members of the Senate, the House of Assembly, the Privy Council, and law enforcement gathering in Parliament Square for official delivery of proclamation of a new British and Commonwealth monarch this afternoon.

Former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham, who is also the senior member of the privy council, made the official proclamation of the new monarch, King Charles III.

Early Thursday morning, it was revealed that The Queen’s doctors were concerned for her health and recommended she remain under medical supervision.

Queen Elizabeth II -the longest reigning monarch – died at Balmoral on Thursday at the age of 96, making way for a new king.

Members of the House of Assembly, senate, law enforcement, and members of the judiciary all gathered for the ceremony.

Following the reading by the senior privy council member came a 21-one gun salute.
