NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After being slammed by the opposition for months for breaking procurement laws, parliamentarians debating amendments to the legislation, repealing and replacing the Public Procurement and Public Finance Management Acts 2021.

Regarding the Public Procurement Bill, mover of the bill Prime Minister Philip Davis said the original law passed under the former administration wasn’t practical and was unworkable from the start.

One issue Davis says this new bill will addresses is the unequal distribution of contracts.
