NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Royal Bahamas Defense Force is beefing up its security, this comes as violence in Haiti continues to escalate after calls for the resignation of its Prime Minister Ariel Henry.

RBDF Commodore Dr. Raymond King says now is the time to do so.

Just this week, some 4500 inmates escaped prison, followed by an attempted seizure of the main international airport by gangs resulting in it’s closure as Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry attempted to return to the country.

Resources dedicated to the blockade include six vessels and one aircraft with a force of one hundred and twenty.

Dr. King also adding that the footprint in Haiti will be minimal with limited security and intelligence teams at the Bahamian embassy.
