RBPF: We Are Losing Too Many of Our Young Men to Gun Violence

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 24-year-old man is dead and two suspects are in custody.

Police Press Liaison, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings recounting the details based on initial investigations.

She says it was shortly after 7pm Saturday night when officers at the East Street South Police Station heard gunshots emanating from Pinecrest Drive. 

The chief superintendent says the suspects immediately ran north onto Thatch Palm Avenue but were closely chased by police. One suspect, a 25-year-old man, was immediately apprehended.

The second suspect is a 21-year-old man. Skippings adds that officers recovered a high powered weapon, a handgun, ski masks and gloves.

Skippings says a third unit responded to the initial scene where the gunshots were first heard.
