ATLANTA, GEORGIA – A timeless love story penned in the pages of the bible was reimagined by two popular producers and is now streaming on Netflix.

But before the film’s premiere, a special screening was held in Atlanta, Georgia where the stars told us the impact they hope the story will have.

Our Denielle Miller reports.

Actress Serayah McNeill plays Ruth in the film and shared with me how she connected with her character on a personal level – a connection she hopes exudes through her performance and is felt by audiences across the globe, especially those within the diaspora.

According to the film’s co-producer, Devon Franklin, along with his wife Maria Castillo-Franklin, the goal was to use the adaptation to reshape the perception of love and romance that exist within today’s society.

The coveted role of Boaz is played by Tyler Lepley. He echoed the sentiments of fellow cast member Serayah and the film’s producer – adding that the story dispels the present day myths that love should be viewed as a shallow exchange.
