NASSAU, BAHAMAS – First recognized in 1919 on the first anniversary of the end of the first World War, every year on November 11, much of the world recognizes Remembrance Day.

Remembrance season started last month for the British Legion Bahamas Branch, the caretakers of our veterans, and Chairman Adina Munroe-Charlow wants Bahamians to know that we have our right to recognize the day.

You’ve probably seen the poppies this season, as a whopping 80,000 of them were put together with the help of the Department of Correctional Services this year.

The season culminates with the service this Remembrance Sunday, recognizing our surviving veterans and paying tribute to the fallen.
