HAITI – Efforts to set up a transitional government in Haiti have stalled as delegates struggle to choose a leader.

Amid the uncertainty and continuing gang violence, many residents are booking flights to flee the country.

At the airport in Cap-Haitien northern Haiti, which has just reopened to commercial flights, some Haitians who intended to use commercial flights are seeking to fly either to the United States or in some cases, to other Caribbean countries.

This comes after weeks of chaos and violence that has engulfed Haiti, particularly the capital of Port-Au-Prince.
