Residents: The Roads Are Bad Right Now, Plenty Holes to Dodge

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In recent weeks there’s been a lot of heavy rain causing flooding across the island, typical weather for the month of September but with the increase of rain comes an increase in potholes, a vexing problem for thousands of motorists.

The ongoing, frustrating cycle of witnessing a pothole be repaired only to have it reopened months, or even just weeks later is an age-old cry for many residents around the country.

During the rainy season, imperfections in the roads are more susceptible to turning into potholes. We asked residents to share what they believe are the worst streets in Nassau.

And if you’ve ever found yourself hitting one of those potholes, you’re probably all too familiar with the sinking feeling you get when you think about the possible damage to your vehicle.

The residents we spoke to say they have had to spend unnecessary funds on repairs due to road conditions.

This resident believes more attention should be paid to the inner-city .

And if you’re trying to avoid a pothole and it’s associated consequences, residents say that then creates a safety issue.

They say more must be done.
