NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A noticeable jump in New Providence fatalities in the last week including a double fatality in a motorcycle crash, and third motorcycle victim who died after colliding with a Mack truck Wednesday night.

As of Friday, the count for the year is now 45.

Corporal Patrick Kemp is the education and safety officer with the police force. He attributes a lot of these motorcycle deaths to improper usage of bikes and stoplights.

Police point to two main causes of accidents: traffic lights and roundabouts.

In case you need reminding, failure to heed traffic lights and signs and incorrect use of roundabouts – all lead to penalties.
