NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A school principal is facing charges after he allegedly crossed the line with a student.

Prosecutors say Matheo Smith, the principal at Achievers Christian Academy, touched the 15-year-old inappropriately and showed her a photo of his genitals.

The incident allegedly happened on March 18 when the student came to his office.

Smith faces charges of cruelty to children and indecent assault over the alleged incident.

He denied the charges when he appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on Monday.

He was granted eight thousand dollars bail on the condition he has no further contact with the alleged victim.

Smith’s trial is set to begin on April 29.
