CHINA – China’s cyberspace administration is conducting a security review of popular online store Shein amid IPO plans. The review, focusing on Shein’s supply chain presence and data handling, adds complexity to its U.S. IPO journey.

As tensions between Washington and Beijing rise, analysts say the review solidifies Shein’s Chinese identity.

With concerns over data security, both U.S. and Chinese regulators must give their approval for the IPO. The company recently moved its headquarters to Singapore which analysts say may ease Beijing’s concerns.
