HAITI – Six nuns and two others, who were kidnapped in Haiti last week, have been released. The news confirmed by Archbishop Max Leroy Mésidor of Port-au-Prince who spoke with the Associated Press on Thursday.

Expressing gratitude, he mentioned that everyone is in good condition, but did not disclose whether a ransom was paid or provide details about the perpetrators.

This recent high-profile kidnapping has sparked criticism from religious leaders, who issued a scathing letter condemning the government’s inaction in addressing the escalating gang-related violence in Haiti.
