NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A teen suspect is behind bars after police made a breakthrough in their investigation into a mass shooting that left two men dead on August 9.

The 16-year-old boy appeared before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley facing two counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder.

He didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges and was denied bail.

The teen makes his next court appearance on December 10.

Prosecutors say the minor took part in a shooting in Ridgeland Park that claimed the lives of Eden Louis and Markentash Saintil and injured Hayden Breus, Trish Louis, Widny Saintil, Karib Rodgers, and Gregory Jean-Charles.

The victims were outside of a home on Robertha Drive at around 2 pm when two gunmen emerged from a silver Nissan Cube and shot them.
