SLOVAK – A suspect has been charged with the attempted murder of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

Fico was shot multiple times in what authorities believe to be a politically motivated assault.

The alleged assailant, identified as a 71-year-old, acted alone, according to the interior minister.

The PM who is in critical condition, was rushed to the hospital where he remains stable but serious.

The incident has sparked concerns over political tensions in Slovakia.
