NASSAU, BAHAMAS – National Security Minister Wayne Munroe sharing governments’ hope to introduce for consultation, a  Parole Act.

The bill, according to Munroe, will seek to clean up and change the current system in which prisoners serve their time.

Munroe says the goal is for everyone to serve their sentence, one way or another.

Munroe hopes that the Act will provide alternative sentences to keep people out of jail who commit minor offences.

This, in turn, will solve the issue of non-violent criminals turning to gangs.
