NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A forensic speech analyst hired by the prosecution has been unable to link former CID chief Michael Johnson, attorney Bjorn Ferguson and Sergeant Deangelo Rolle to a series of viral voice messages at the heart of their corruption case.

The voice comparisons done by Dr Christin Kirchhübel, of Soundscape Voice Evidence in the UK, said the viral voice messages that purported to show Johnson and Rolle soliciting bribes from gang leader Michael Fox Jr, a suspect in the November 2023 theft of $1.475 million from Odyssey Aviation, did not match voice samples from the accused.

However, Dr. Kirchhübel found the recordings were not AI-generated.

Justice Dale Fitzpatrick revealed the results of the report during a case management hearing last week, saying the report “took away a plank in the chain” as he questioned how prosecutors would prove their case.

Prosecutors allege that the men were bribed with the money from the airport heist to prevent Fox, the leader of the Fox Hill Outlaws, from being charged in the case.

Recently, the DPP dropped theft charges against Akeil Holmes, the former ICS Security armored car guard, who was accused of stealing the money.
