NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The lead-up to the country’s 50th Independence was filled with loads of cultural events which many Bahamians supported. 

The invite-only event was held yesterday evening at Government House with a state reception and it did not disappoint.

It was a night of elegance and culture on the grounds of Government House as many gathered for the 50th Independence State Reception.

Chair of the National Independence Secretariat Leslia Miller-Brice says the events don’t stop here and will continue over the next year.

These attendees describe the event as one to remember and shared some of their proud moments over the past 50 years.

Prime Minister Philip Davis officially cut the independence cake that was adorned with the country’s national symbols.
