LAS VEGAS, UNITED STATES – The 2023 football season was lost for the Boise State Broncos and their Bahamian Freshman wide receiver, Prince Strachan.

Just over a month ago, the team’s record sat at a disappointing 5-5, resulting in the firing of coach Andy Avalos. Defensive Coordinator Spencer Danielson stepped in as interim leading the team to four straight victories and a Mountain West Conference title last night, coming in a win against University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV) 44-20..

Strachan went without a catch in the game, however, he did have a big impact on the game early, blowing by the cornerback on a go route, leaving him with no choice but to draw a touchdown-saving 15-yard pass interference penalty that would put Boise State on the 22-yard line, putting them in prime position to convert and score the first touchdown of the game.

Strachan didn’t get much play in the passing game because they didn’t need him to. Boise bludgeoned UNLV on the ground, running for 301 yards in total, allowing quarterback Taylen Green to throw on 15 passes the whole game, completing 12 for a hyper-efficient 226 yards. Running back Ashton Jeanty led the way with 153 yards on 21 carries.
The title is the Broncos’ 5th since they joined the conference a decade ago.

They’re projected to play in the New Mexico Bowl against New Mexico State University. The announcement of their final game will be made late Sunday.
