Anthonique Strachan ran in the 200m finals in Hungary earlier this afternoon.

She came 6th in the race with a time of 22.29. This was Anthonique’s first global final.

Winning with a championship record was Jamaica’s Sherika Jackson in 21.41 seconds

The University of The Bahamas Mingoes women’s volleyball team played Florida National University Thursday afternoon at the Bucky Dent Gym in Hialeah.

They dropped the first set 25-8.

The second set was a bit more competitive but they still fell 25-12.

They tried to mount a rally in the third, going up 4-2 early but FNU stormed back to win 25-10.

Jonquel Jones put on a clinic as her New York Liberty beat the Connecticut Sun 95-90 in Connecticut.

JJ scored 21 points of 8-16 shooting while dominating inside grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking 2 shots. Breanna Stewart led the libs with 24 and 12.

Dewanna Bonner led the Sun with 30 points.

The Liberty will be in the twin cities on Sunday to play the Minnesota Lynx.
