NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Nassau Village MP Jamahl Strachan said there needs to be “more disruption” to crime.

His comments came on the heels of a homicide in his constituency Sunday night which left one man dead and four juvenile males nursing gunshot wounds.

Police said the incident occurred as the victims were attending a baby shower.

Strachan confirmed to Our News that the homicide victim was not from his constituency.

“The fact that it took place in my constituency worries me,” Strachan said.

“We don’t have violence and we have been mitigating against any violent acts in the constituency and I denounce all violent activity that have taken place thus far. I stand in solidarity with The Royal Bahamas Police Force…and we will be assisting them to resolve this matter.”
