Memphis Infielder Had Himself A Night

Memphis, TN, USA. University of Memphis Tigers’ second-baseman Daunte Stuart’s sublime season continued last night as he helped his team secure a 9-4 win against the University of Mississippi Rebels.

Batting out of the cleanup spot, the right-handed hitter went 3-4 with two doubles and a single an RBI, a run, and a stolen base to help Memphis get the win against their border rival.

He also flashed some nifty glovework at second base.

Stuart was in the zone, he even did a slick move to avoid a tag and steal his 5th base of the season.

After a four-year career at Northwestern State in Louisiana which ended with him being one of the conference’s best players, Stuart’s outstanding play has carried over to Memphis where he is leading the team with a .328 average with 40 hits and 33 runs. He’s also second with a .967 OPS and 25 RBI and he’s hit 4 home runs so far this season.

Despite his sublime play, the Tigers’ play has been up and down and they currently own a 14-17 record along with a 2-4 record in the American Athletic Conference. With tough out-of-conference opponents out of the way, the Tigers have a chance to bear down and rack up wins in a conference that is still within reach.

No matter what happens, what we know is that the second baseman from New Providence will continue to hit the ball.
