Sunland Baptist Players Off to California College; Warriors off to NBA Semis

GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Sunland Baptist Academy basketball players Donell Basden and Jordan Saunders are headed to Butte College in California to continue their careers are students and as basketball players.

The duo announced this at a signing ceremony at the school’s campus in Grand Bahama on Monday.

Sunland already has two alums, Rolontae Knowles and Ozzie Meadows, playing starring roles for the roadrunners. Donell Basden wanted to follow in his former teammates’ footsteps

Sunland Coach Jay Philippe is proud of his players’ numerous accomplishments.

Meanwhile, Klay Thompson and his Golden State Warriors won game 7 of their first-round playoff matchup against the Sacramento Kings 120-100. 

Klay had a rough first half, scoring only seven points on 1 of 10 shooting. He bounced back in the 2nd, making a couple of threes, including a huge four-point play at the end of the third to put a wet blanket on a Kings’ rally. He would finish with 16 points. 

Stephen Curry had an historic game, going for 50 points, the most in NBA history in a playoff game 7. 

Kevon Looney had on another transcendent outing on the boards, grabbing 21 rebounds.
