NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 24-year-old man who’s on bail for murder has admitted threatening a cop in a police station.

Omar Atkinson was detained at the East Street South Police Station over the Christmas Holiday on suspicion of breaching the conditions of his bail for the 2022 murder of Fred Lifaite in Coconut Grove.

While in the station’s lockup, Atkinson started making a nuisance of himself by kicking on the celldoor and demanding that the officers let him out.

Atkinson cursed the officers after they told him he didn’t decide when he would be released.
That’s when Atkinson urinated in his cell and flooded the cell.

Atkinson threatened PC 4269 Neely, telling him that he should watch his back because he had “shooters on this road.”

Atkinson pleaded guilty to charges of obscene language, disorderly behavior, and threats of harm at his arraignment before Senior Magistrate Anishka Isaacs.

Atkinson told the magistrate that he threatened the officer because he slapped him.
He admitted that he was slapped after flooding the cell and peeing on the floor.

Atkinson paid fines, totalling $372 to avoid spending three weeks in prison.

He also paid $200 in compensation to Officer Neely to avoid one month in prison.
