TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS – A four-month-long investigation into human trafficking has ended with arrests in the Turks and Caicos.
TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS – A four-month-long investigation into human trafficking has ended with arrests in the Turks and Caicos.
Officers from the serious crimes unit of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands police force calling it a significant breakthrough.
The investigation was a partnership with TCI’s office of the director of public prosecutions.
50-year-old Oren Walkin and 45-year-old Maria Alexander Pineda De Walkin were charged with six counts of trafficking in persons, one count of keeping a brothel used for prostitution, and one count of controlling prostitution for gain.
