NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas National Beach Soccer team is currently playing Panama in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Beach Cup after a night off on Thursday.

Our boys finished group play with a 2-1 record, beating Guatemala and Belize before they fell to Mexico on Wednesday night 5-4.

Panama is also 2-1, having squeaked by Trinidad, and blown out the Dominican Republic but losing to the USA pretty decisively.

Now they’re playing the hometown boys for a shot to get into the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the Bahamas National Rugby Semifinal is finally taking place on Grand Bahama after a delay.

Freeport RFC will host the Cuckoos rugby club out of Nassau on Saturday at 2pm on their home turf in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

The winner will play for the cub Bahamas Cup against a combined squad of Bucaneers and Bailou players in new providence on May 20th.

With Ayton on the bench in street clothes because of a chest contusion, the Suns surrendered a

whopping 81 points in the first half to their 51.

Things didn’t get better in the 2nd quarter as the Nuggets continued to pour it on. The Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic would notch another double-double with 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists.

Backup point guard Cameron Payne, starting in place of the injured Chris Paul led the Suns with 31 points. All-star guard Devin Booker finished with 12 points.

Deandre Ayton has seemingly been at odds with his team since his contentious offseason extension negotiation.

Ayton is trade eligible so with a new owner in town looking to make changes, don’t be surprised if ayton begins next season in a different jersey.

Another Bahamian, Klay Thompson is playing in a potential elimination game Friday as his Warriors will play the Los Angeles Lakers in game 6 of their second-round series.
