Team Bahamas Wins Silver At CAZOVA Senior Championships

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Team Bahamas fell to Curaçao in straight sets in the gold medal game of the Caribbean Volleyball Championships Saturday night, coming out of the championship with a silver medal.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Team Bahamas fell to Curaçao in straight sets in the gold medal game of the Caribbean Volleyball Championships last night on their home court at the Kendall Isaacs gymnasium.

They lost the opening set 25-21, before coming close in the 2nd set, losing 25-23.

Curaçao, a team that went undefeated in the tournament, showed why they were in the final, powering themselves to a 25-16 victory in the deciding set to take the gold from the hometown heros.

Head Coach Glenn Rolle is appreciative of the hardware, but there’s still work to do.

BASKETBALL – Team Bahamas Falls To USA In OT Thriller

Team Bahamas fell 105-93 in overtime to the USA in the opening game of the FIBA AmeriCup tournament in Nicaragua.

The team put on a strong performance against our neighbour, finishing the first half with a 46-41 lead.

The team led by as many as 15 in the third quarter before Team USA stormed back in the 4th to reclaim the lead.

Team Bahamas forced overtime on a clutch three-pointer from guard Franco Miller Jr. at the buzzer before being outscored 21-9 in OT.

Miller and Isaiah Mobley led the team in scoring with 22 points a piece.

Miller added six assists, and Mobley grabbed 10 boards for good measure.
