Teen’s Murder Prompts Activist Calls For Stiffer Penalties

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Rise Bahamas Leader Terneille  “TADA” Burrows was flanked by other children’s rights activists Wednesday morning in front of the House of Assembly. 

The goal?  To press the nation’s leaders to pass stronger legislation for crimes against children. 

She says the Child Protection Act that covers the rights of children is inadequate.

They’re also calling for the establishment of the National Child Protection Council.

Burrows also pleading to government to provide more funding to child protection organizations.

Also joining the cause music icon Sweet Emily.
