NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Today is Thanksgiving in the United States, and across that country families are sitting down for their annual Thanksgiving dinner. But they won’t be the only ones.

Every year, American Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November, but it seems that as the years go by, more and more Bahamians seem to be participating.

In fact, according to our social media surveys, 53% of Bahamians are celebrating in some form.

Some argue, it’s the holiday’s menu that draws the crowd, and it seems that’s a sentiment shared by most.

Almost 70% of those surveyed say Thanksgiving food is the cause of the holiday catching on in our country.

Some even call for it to become an official holiday here, even if it’s under a different name.
