NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The startling sight of police boats, immigration buses, officers with guns, and protective vests isn’t typical in Palm Cay. With the Revenue Enhancement Task Force sweeping properties across the island, it’s something seen in security footage of some prominent businesses lately.
Jak Hannaby, Palm Cay’s managing director, tells us they’ve had multiple visits from the task force this month.
The head of the task force, Commander Bertram Bowleg, defended their work, calling the visits harmless. However, Hannaby says the tactics are unnecessary in light of modern technology and is calling for a change in methodology.
