NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two years after the crime, a 38-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for rape.

Jason Ferguson claimed that he and the 23-year-old woman had consensual sex at the South Beach Canals on January 2, 2023.

Justice Franklyn Williams KC described Ferguson as a “vile deluded fantasist” when he handed down the stiff penalty.

According to the evidence, the victim met Ferguson through mutual friends.

On the night in question, the victim went to celebrate a friend’s birthday at Envy Sporting Lounge.

Ferguson was also there, as his best friend was the boyfriend of the celebrant.

They all left the club together. While driving on the Independence Highway, the celebrant and her boyfriend had an argument and they left the car, leaving Ferguson and the woman alone.

That’s when he locked the doors and told the woman that he had a gun.

Ferguson drove to the South Beach Canals, where he raped the woman repeatedly.
