NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Three Bahamians and a Jamaican are facing charges after the U.S. Coast Guard made a $18.4 million drug bust near Cuba.

Howard Rolle, James Jones, Zenard Rolle, all residents of Andros, and Nicholas Duckenson, of Negril, Jamaica, were arrested on a Bahamian-registered boat in international waters south of Gauntanamo Bay on December 7.

While searching the vessel, authorities allegedly found 2,250 pounds of cocaine, valued at $18.4 million, seven pounds of marijuana, worth $7,000 and a .40 Smith and Wesson pistol.

The men faced charges of drug possession with intent to supply, conspiracy to import drugs with intent to supply, conspiracy to possess drugs with intent to supply and possession of an unlicensed firearm when they stood before Senior Magistrate Raquel Whymms.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges and bail was denied.

Their trial is set for April 16.
