USA – The Biden administration issuing a stark warning to the owners of the popular video-sharing app TikTok, demanding they sell their stakes in the company or face a U.S. ban.

The move is the latest in a series of efforts by the U.S. government to limit Chinese influence, citing concerns over data privacy.

Owned by the Beijing-based company ByteDance, TikTok has faced intense scrutiny in recent years over allegations that it shares user data with the Chinese government.

The issue has also led to the U.K. Government banning the use of the app on government owned devices.
