NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Tiktok star Elias Fritz is one step closer to freedom after a judge amended his bail bond.

Fritz, 19, remained behind bars despite his $50,000 bail being signed because the charges on the bail bond did not match those on his remand warrant at the prison.

The initial bond had omitted one count of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

As a result, Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson corrected the bond to facilitate his release.

Fritz faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The charges stem from an August 11 police pursuit. Prosecutors allege that around 4:30 a.m., officers attached to the Black Scorpion operation saw a white Nissan Cube speeding in the area of Robinson Road and Ida Street with no headlights on.

The officers tried to stop the vehicle, which was allegedly driven by Fritz. During the pursuit, shots were fired at Inspector A. Cartwright and Constable 4475 McDonald, who returned fire.

The chase ended when the Cube crashed into a light pole on the Eastern Road.

Meanwhile, another patrol unit came across taxi driver Theodore Fernander, who flagged them down on East Street. He reported that the occupants of a white Cube shot him.
