Tourism Min. Says Numbers “Very Strong”
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Global inflation and higher travel costs are not hampering the rebound of the country’s number one industry.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Global inflation and higher travel costs are not hampering the rebound of the country’s number one industry. That’s according to the tourism minister, who also says over $3 billion worth of investments have been made in the tourism sector.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Aviation and Investments, Chester Cooper, says that tourism numbers are continuing to climb post-pandemic.
The month of May is typically classified as a slow period, but Cooper is describing this year’s numbers as “very strong”. He credits international tourism marketing strategies for the growth. DPM Cooper adding that so far, over $3 billion worth of investments have been injected into the economy through various projects.
As it relates to global challenges brought on by inflation, Cooper says this is something the government will continue to monitor.
