NASSAU, BAHAMAS – This Christmas Eve marred with tragedy after a man was struck by a box truck shortly after 12:30PM in the area of Verbana Street and Peach Street.

The family of a man that was struck by a box truck crying out this afternoon as they mourn the loss of a loved one. Police Press Liason, Supt. Chrislyn Skippings says the incident occured shortly after 12:30PM.

She says after one resident brandished a firearm, the driver of the truck attempted to leave the area.

As it relates to the driver of that box truck, he is cooperating with police.

Supt. Skippings is sending a strong warning to the motoring public about speeding this holiday season.
