NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of killing his girlfriend and her teenage daughter will not go to trial in May as previously scheduled.

Blake Strachan appeared before Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson for a hearing ahead of his trial that was set to begin on May 4.

However, the date was vacated due to the ongoing bribery trial of FNM MP Adrian Gibson that occupied the court’s calendar since November 2023.

Strachan’s trial is now set for May 2026. He remains in custody.

Prosecutors say Strachan fatally stabbed his girlfriend Allison Thompson and her 14-year-old daughter Trevornika Thompson.

They were last seen alive at their Ross Corner apartment on April 11, 2023.

Police found their decomposing bodies in there on April 14, 2023 when they went to investigate the source of a foul odor.
