Tropical Storm Imelda Impacts San Salvador on Joaquin Anniversary
SAN SALVADOR, BAHAMAS – For the second day in a row, residents in San Salvador woke up to sunny skies and little to no rain, a sign that Tropical Storm Imelda had passed, but just like Saturday, it would turn out to be an illusion.

What seemed like out of nowhere, cloud coverage quickly thickened and for about an hour, and there was a heavy downpour.
The main difference from yesterday is the strong winds came with it, and the sea was the roughest it’s been since we arrived Friday.
Waves well above sea level could be seen crashing over storm walls.
The main Queens Highway which runs along the coastline, experienced a bit of flooding, with some cars still able to maneuver through the streets.
Eventually, the rain stopped and conditions returned similar to how they were this morning before the burst of wild weather.
Today’s weather occurred on the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Joaquin – the category 4 hurricane that battered this island with dangerous winds, heavy rainfall and flooding, causing extensive damage.
