USA – A U.S. federal judge has set a May 2024 trial date for former President Donald Trump in the case charging him with illegally retaining hundreds of classified documents.

The date is a compromise between requests from prosecutors to hold the trial this December, and defense lawyers who are asking for the trial to be put off indefinitely until sometime after the 2024 presidential election.

If this date holds, it would follow closely behind a separate trail trump is facing for falsifying business records in connection with alleged hush money to a porn actor.
