UNITED STATES – President Donald Trump has granted a full pardon to Changpeng Zhao, the co-founder of Binance, who pleaded guilty in 2023 to violating anti-money-laundering laws.

The White House says Zhao’s prosecution was part of the Biden administration’s “war on crypto.”

Zhao served about four months in prison and paid more than $4 billion in fines.

Critics say the move undermines regulatory oversight.
