Trump Says He Has A Group Of Wealthy People To Buy TikTok

UNITED STATES – President Donald Trump says a deal is in the works to sell TikTok’s U.S. operations and it involves what he calls a group of “very wealthy people,” though he’s keeping names under wraps for now.

In a Fox News interview Sunday, Trump said the sale will likely need China’s approval and he expects President Xi Jinping to sign off.

The move comes after months of back and forth and a looming U.S. Law that would force TikTok to shut down by January unless China-based Bytedance sells.

Trump has extended that deadline three times.
