NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two adults and three juveniles are facing charges after a 15-year-old male student at Anatol Rodgers High School was allegedly attacked with a tire iron last week.

Prosecutors allege that 40-year-old Jameko Powell, 20-year-old Doyle Bastian and three boys, aged 16, broke Principal Ricardo Patterson’s right ring finger when he intervened.

The accused denied assault with a dangerous instrument and causing grievous harm charges when they stood before Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.

The charges stem from an incident at the school around 3:40pm on January 24.

Bail was set $5,000 and the matter is set for April 22 for trial.

Powell, Bastian and two of the teens are also accused of threatening to harm a 13-year-old girl who attends the school on the same date.

They denied that charge and were each granted $1,000 bail. The trial date for that matter is also April 22.
