CHILE – Rescue workers evacuated people affected by floods in the Chilean Central southern region of Maule on Tuesday. The evacuation came a day after president Gabriel Boric declared a state of catastrophe.

At least two people died from the flooding while thousands have been evacuated or left homeless.

Rescue workers used boats to help move people in flooded streets, where water levels in certain areas had reached rooftops.
