NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The U.S. Coast Guard said it repatriated 77 illegal migrants to Cuba and The Bahamas last week.

This latest repatriation effort took the number of Cuban and Haitian migrants interdicted or encountered at sea since October 2022 to over 11,000.

The coast guard is warning migrants not to make the dangerous journey with district seven response law enforcement officer lieutenant matt miller saying its a dangerous voyage and you could lose your life.

He didn’t stop there, he said the U.S. maritime borders are closed for unlawful entry, noting that if you attempt it, it will result in your disqualification for the Cuba and Haiti parole process.

The coast guard said it is working with regional partners to have an air and sea presence to detect and deter migrants from attempting to unlawfully enter the U.S. via the sea.
