NASSAU, BAHAMAS – This week Usha Pitts, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires hosted a welcome reception in honor of CARICOM. Former Secretary of State, John Kerry, now Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, addressed the purpose of the American delegation’s presence at this Meeting of Carribean Heads of Government.

Earlier in the week, questions were raised about whether there were concerns “Special guests” from large developed non-Caribbean nations like the U.S. and Canada might dominate meetings, but Kerry reiterated that his focus during his time in the country would be rather the opposite.
