TRINIDAD & TOBAGO – The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Gravely has arrived in Trinidad and Tobago for joint military training, just miles from the Venezuelan coast.

The warship’s arrival comes amid a major U.S. military build-up in the region, including the deployment of the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier group.

Venezuela immediately condemned the move as a “hostile provocation,” accusing Trinidad of coordinating with the Central Intelligence Agency to spur a military confrontation.
