USA – A U.S. winter storm warning in effect for more than 100 million people in the wake of relentless winter storms claiming lives across multiple states since Friday, a new wave of extreme cold and snow is poised to sweep through the central and eastern U.S., intensifying travel hazards and ushering in a brutally-cold weekend.

The toll has already reached at least 21 storm-related deaths in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kansas, Oregon, and New York since January 12.

Commuters are warned of extremely difficult travel conditions, as forecaster emphasize the need for caution during the morning and evening.
