UNITED KINGDOM – British lawmakers re-elected Labour’s Lindsay Hoyle as commons speaker on Tuesday.

Hoyle, also the MP for Chorley, was re-elected unopposed at the start of the new Parliament.

This session welcomed 335 new MPs, including reform UK Leader Nigel Farage, who faced jeers when congratulating Hoyle.

As speaker, Hoyle will arbitrate procedural disputes in the Commons and determine which potential legislation is debated.
