HAITI – As families flee gang violence in Haiti, unicef reports that nearly 1.6 million people face acute food insecurity, heightening risks of malnutrition among children.

A 19% surge in severe acute malnutrition cases among children is projected for 2024.

UNICEF also reports Port-Au-Prince hospitals are overwhelmed amid the security crisis, with 6 out of 10 out of service and others facing shortages of medicines and fuel.

This as children face heightened risks of disease and malnutrition.
