NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of The Seas boasts 18 decks and the capacity to host nearly 6,000 guests – the ship is larger than its sister, Wonder of The Seas.

The Bahamian-registered vessel commenced its inaugural cruise from port Canaveral on July 19th, arriving at the Nassau Cruise Port Sunday, July 21st.

Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Chester Cooper says the longstanding relationship between Royal Caribbean and The Bahamas has been fruitful, and he looks forward to more success as the company embarks on this all-Bahamian cruise.

With Utopia of The Seas adding a considerable number of guests to our shores visiting perfect day at Cococay and Nassau, cooper encourages tourism professionals to capitalize on new opportunities and urges more Bahamians to buy in.

The voyage is historic for many reasons, but most importantly, it’s the first time a Bahamian woman serves as a first officer on board a Royal Caribbean vessel.

Thirty-two-year-old Ivanna Seymour says the journey to her present role was challenging but worthwhile as she continues to follow her dreams and make the most of her opportunities.
